Sembalun
Sembalun sits on the eastern foothills of Mount Rinjani — wide savannah valleys, onion and strawberry fields, and the most dramatic sunrise views of Lombok’s volcano.
It is the classic east-side trailhead for Rinjani treks, and equally rewarding as a scenic highland day trip: cool air, open landscapes, and photo stops that feel completely different from the beaches and Gilis.

How to Get Sembalun
Sembalun is reached by private car across Lombok’s eastern roads — typically 2–3.5 hours from Senggigi / Bangsal area depending on traffic and stops.
- From the Gili Islands, take a private speedboat to Bangsal or Teluk Nare, then continue by car inland to Sembalun.
- From south Lombok (Kuta Mandalika), plan a long day or overnight; combine with Tetebatu or Senaru only if timing allows.
- Share your hotel location — we arrange pickup so you arrive in cooler morning light for valley views.
